Why Be a Member of the West Virginia Geriatrics Society?

Here in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, we pride ourselves on caring for one another. In 2018, West Virginia ranked number 3 in the states with the oldest population. Nearly one quarter of our
population is over the age of 60. In addition, WV ranks second highest nationally in the prevalence of
general health in adults as either fair or poor. Thus, an aging population and the health of that population is an Important issue for West Virginia. Your membership in the West Virginia Geriatrics Society is a statement of care and dedication to learning more about the appropriate and empowering care of our aging citizens. Your dues allow us to provide educational opportunities and news about innovations and trends across the world.
Membership is open to individuals who want to network with others who are interested in the health and well-being of older West Virginians, who want to participate in learning opportunities, and keep abreast of current trends in both WV and nationwide. The WVGS has historically collaborated with sponsors and partners to deliver an annual educational event for both health professionals, stake holders and anyone interested in improving the care and services for older adults in West Virginia. However, due to Covid 19 we were unable to hold our annual Summit in 2020.
Dues are a mere $50. annually for a professional and $25. for a student, and allow you to participate in our Annual Meeting, Board elections, full membership meetings, as well as show your support for the respect, consideration and proper care of our older citizens in West Virginia

Remember, membership is for one year, January through December. Join us...or rejoin us! Be a part of The West Virginia Geriatrics Society!
